1. Go to the Chrome Web Store
2. Search "Jupiter Wallet"
3. Click "Add to Chrome"
4. The Jupiter Wallet icon appears in the top right

2. Mobile app

iOS: App Store -> "Jupiter Mobile" or "Jupiter Solana Wallet"
Android: Google Play -> "Jupiter Mobile"
⚠️ Check that the developer = "Jupiter"

Creating a new wallet

1. Open Jupiter Wallet -> "Create a new wallet"
2. You can sign in with Apple ID / email (simplest)
OR create it with a seed phrase (full self-custody)
3. If you choose the seed phrase option — Wallet shows you 12 words
4. WRITE THEM ON PAPER:
   ⚠️ Never photograph them
⚠️ Never write them down digitally (notes app, gmail)
⚠️ Never send them to anyone
5. Confirm the words
6. Wallet created ✅

Address system

After creation, Jupiter Wallet has a Solana address:

Solana: 7Xm2bNJk...K9pQ3Lq

Important: a Solana address never starts with "0x". Ethereum addresses start with "0x" — these are different networks, don't mix them up.

Your first transfer (a test)

Always make your first transfer a SMALL amount ($5-10) — that way you verify the whole path yourself for pennies, before sending a larger sum. It's a habit experienced users rely on.

From Nexo to Jupiter Wallet (SOL)

Jupiter Wallet side:
1. On the home screen, tap "SOL"
2. Tap "Receive"
3. Copy the address (7Xm2bNJk...)

Nexo side:

2. Withdraw -> Crypto -> SOL
3. ⚠️ Network: "Solana (SOL)" - CHECK THIS!
4. Address: paste your Jupiter Wallet address
5. Amount: 0.1 SOL (first transfer - a test)
6. Confirm (may require 2FA)

Duration: ~10-30 seconds
Fee (Nexo): $0 (first withdrawal of the month is free)
Fee (network): ~$0.001

From Nexo to Jupiter Wallet (ETH or BTC)

Solana DeFi:
├── Kamino (lending) <ChainBadge chain="solana" />

4. A Jupiter Wallet popup appears: "Allow [domain] to read your address?"
5. Click "Connect"
6. Kamino now sees your SOL balance
7. Every transaction happens through Jupiter Wallet (you have to approve it)

Security skills

Wallet security comes down to a few clear habits. Below is each risk paired with the specific action that manages it.

Every risk has a solution. You don't fear it — you learn to manage it.

Good habits

  1. When buying crypto, use only the official Jupiter site.
  2. Make your first transfer a test (a small amount).
  3. Leave ~0.05 SOL as a gas reserve (otherwise you won't be able to send anything).
  4. Check the network on both sides before sending.
  5. A hardware wallet (Ledger) if your portfolio exceeds $5,000.

Summary

With a working wallet, you connect to Kamino, Orca, and Jupiter swap yourself — the network opens up to you without anyone's permission.

Quick check
Which networks does Jupiter Wallet support?
Practice task
0 / 5
Create your first Solana wallet

Theory without practice fades within a week. This task takes about 10 minutes, and afterward you'll have a WORKING wallet — your first real step into DeFi. No money required.

NEVER photograph your seed phrase, store it on your phone, or type it into any website. Jupiter (or any support agent) will NEVER ask for it — anyone who does is a scammer.

This is learning, not investing — use only small amounts you treat as tuition.

You just created a non-custodial wallet and verified the backup yourself — for most people that stays theory, but you now handle your own keys in practice.
