1. Open Jupiter Wallet -> "Create a new wallet"
2. You can sign in with Apple ID / email (simplest)
OR create it with a seed phrase (full self-custody)
3. If you choose the seed phrase option — Wallet shows you 12 words
4. WRITE THEM ON PAPER:
⚠️ Never photograph them
⚠️ Never write them down digitally (notes app, gmail)
⚠️ Never send them to anyone
5. Confirm the words

After creation, Jupiter WalletJupiter WalletThe main Solana wallet used in this course. Holds SOL, USDC and SPL tokens, with a built-in swap feature. MetaMask is used for the Ethereum side.Read the lesson → has a Solana address:
Solana: 7Xm2bNJk...K9pQ3Lq
Important: a SolanaSolanaA fast blockchain (under 1s, gas under $0.01). Home to the Kamino, Orca and Meteora ecosystem.Read the lesson → address never starts with "0x". Your first transfer (a test)
Always make your first transfer a SMALL amount ($5-10) — that way you verify the whole path yourself for pennies, before sending a larger sum. It's a habit experienced users rely on.
From Nexo to Jupiter Wallet (SOL)
Jupiter Wallet side:
1. On the home screen, tap "SOL"
2. Tap "Receive"
3. Copy the address (7Xm2bNJk...)
Nexo side:

4. Address: paste your Jupiter Wallet address
5. Amount: 0.1 SOL (first transfer - a test)
6. Confirm (may require 2FA)
Duration: ~10-30 seconds
Fee (Nexo): $0 (first withdrawal of the month is free)

Security skills
WalletWalletA crypto wallet. Phantom (Solana), MetaMask (Ethereum). Holds your keys. security comes down to a few clear habits. Below is each risk paired with the specific action that manages it.
- Phishing asks for your seed phrase → Jupiter WalletJupiter WalletThe main Solana wallet used in this course. Holds SOL, USDC and SPL tokens, with a built-in swap feature. MetaMask is used for the Ethereum side.Read the lesson → will NEVER ask for it, so you recognize any such request as a scam. You never type your seed phrase into any website and never send it to anyone (Telegram, Discord, email).
- Malware gets onto your device → you never keep your seed phrase on your phone (notes, photos) and never click links from unknown sources — that way there's nothing for malware to steal.
- Public WiFi → do sensitive actions over mobile data, not an open network.
Every risk has a solution. You don't fear it — you learn to manage it.
Good habits
- When buying crypto, use only the official Jupiter site.
- Make your first transfer a test (a small amount).
- Leave ~0.05 SOLSOLSolana's native token. Used to pay gas and as collateral.Read the lesson → as a gas reserve (otherwise you won't be able to send anything).
- Check the network on both sides before sending.
- A hardware wallet (Ledger) if your portfolio exceeds $5,000.

Theory without practice fades within a week. This task takes about 10 minutes, and afterward you'll have a WORKING wallet — your first real step into DeFi. No money required.
NEVER photograph your seed phrase, store it on your phone, or type it into any website. Jupiter (or any support agent) will NEVER ask for it — anyone who does is a scammer.
This is learning, not investing — use only small amounts you treat as tuition.
You just created a non-custodial wallet and verified the backup yourself — for most people that stays theory, but you now handle your own keys in practice.
